Pete is passionate about using the rapid growth in data to find smarter urban planning solutions that lead to economic growth.

Pete is an economist and urban planner who specialises in population and employment forecasting and retail modelling. Before joining our team, Pete was in public policy, where he worked as a political staffer for an Australian senator. During this time he provided research assistance related to urban planning policies as well as productivity benefits relating to a more deregulated and innovative childcare system. He also managed a small team in upgrading the Party's internal database system.

Since joining our team, Pete has developed broad expertise across population and employment forecasting, retail modelling, programming and GIS. He has provided significant contributions to a range of projects, most notably Transport for NSW’s Travel Zone Population and Employment Forecasts, which is used widely across major state, local and private agencies.

He has also developed a metropolitan-wide retail gravity model, which uses a range of datasets to quickly forecast the impact of new retail projects across hundreds of centres in Sydney. He also recently worked with UNSW City Futures, where his work helped to determine the productivity benefits of affordable housing located in key transport hubs.

Outside of work, Pete enjoys watching the occasional game of rugby with friends and uncovering hidden Sydney cafes.
