Sue Holliday has had a long career in planning in the NSW public service and has demonstrated a continuing commitment to the major urban policy issues facing Australian cities.

She was Director General of Planning in NSW between 1997 and 2003. She ran her own consultancy practice, Strategies for Change and was appointed Practice Professor of Urban Policy at UNSW between 2011 and 2020.

Sue has held many Board roles and high level advisory roles at the national level. She was National President of the Planning Institute, President of the NSW Building Professionals Board, a member of the Urban Policy Forum and the COAG Expert Panel on Cities. She was a member of the National Housing Supply Council and a member of the High Speed Rail Advisory Council. She chaired the Built Environment Industry Innovation Council.

Sue is also Chair of Hume Community Housing Association.
