Just days after its launch at Parliament House, join the team behind the 11th annual Rental Affordability Index for a discussion on the state of renting in Australia.

Ellen Witte and Kishan Ratnam from SGS Economics and Planning will be joined by John Engeler, CEO of Shelter NSW, and Dan McKenna, CEO of Housing All Australians, to unpack where rental affordability has improved or worsened, what’s driving the change, and what needs to happen next.

From the most and least affordable places to rent, to the daily trade-offs key workers make to live near their jobs — this one-hour conversation will cut through the headlines and explore what these results really mean for our communities.

The Rental Affordability Index 2025 is scheduled to be launched on 24 November 2025.
