Resilience—the ability to prepare for, respond to, recover from, and adapt to changes—is essential for sustaining long-term wellbeing.

However, current data often falls short of providing the timely, accurate, and geographically relevant insights necessary for proactive resilience planning. To address this gap, SGS Economics and Planning partnered with the University of Canberra to develop a dashboard that aims to:

  1. Assess current resilience levels: determine if overall resilience or specific aspects are low, moderate, or high at any given time.
  2. Track changes over time: monitor how resilience levels evolve, focusing on recent trends to identify early signs of resilience decline and enable timely interventions.

The dashboard contains 36 indicators across nine dimensions of resilience resources. The indicators provide comprehensive insights into various aspects of resilience and are derived from reliable data sources and recognised methodologies, ensuring accuracy and relevance.

The dashboard is pivotal for identifying early warning signs of declining resilience and implementing proactive measures. By focusing on dynamic indicators of resilience, this project aims to foster stronger, more adaptable communities capable of withstanding and thriving despite future challenges.
