The SGS Board is excited to announce a CEO transition that reflects our commitment to strong internal succession and long-term growth.

We are pleased to announce that Julian Szafraniec will succeed Alison Holloway as CEO at the end of this financial year. This leadership transition reflects our long-standing commitment to investing in our people.

Alison has served two terms as CEO since 2018. During her tenure, she has successfully led SGS through major challenges, including the COVID-19 pandemic, while expanding its impact across federal, state, and local government sectors, as well as the for-purpose sector. Under her leadership, SGS expanded beyond its roots as a land-use planning and economics firm to a broader public policy advisory.

Alison will take a brief sabbatical before returning to the business as market lead in NSW. We are incredibly thankful to Alison for her exceptional leadership and look forward to her continued contributions in her new role after July.

During my time as CEO, I’ve had the privilege of guiding SGS through significant growth and change. I've valued the opportunity to expand our work with the for-purpose sector, and team up with organisations that share our values in the public interest across Australia and globally.

As an employee-owned business, I’ve had the joy of leading and learning alongside our amazing team, where everyone is deeply invested in our future, supports one another, and genuinely cares about working on some of the most pressing challenges our communities and economies face.

Together, we’ve adapted to market challenges, expanded our services, and met clients evolving needs. Personally, I’m proud to reflect on the incredible organisation SGS is today, thanks to our team's dedication and shared vision for the future. We’re in a great position to continue thriving and evolving to meet new challenges.

Congratulations to Julian on becoming the next CEO of SGS. It’s well-deserved recognition of his leadership capabilities, track record of innovation, and commitment to our purpose. I’m looking forward to working closely with him in the coming months to ensure a smooth transition.
