Liz is a South Texas transplant who wholeheartedly believes in the value of good public policy.
Liz found her way to planning after a brief career as a teacher. Her early planning experience was widespread, working across the private, public, and not-for-profit sectors on social research, community engagement, statutory and strategic planning, and infrastructure and service needs assessments. Today, she leverages that breadth alongside her depth of understanding of demographic trends and community needs to tackle complex challenges.
At SGS, Liz leads project teams in turning a balance of quantitative technical analysis and qualitative research and insights into highly practical, evidence-based advice that's appropriately tailored to the communities it targets. She recognises the expertise that clients and stakeholders bring to each project and takes a collaborative approach to projects. In 2020, Liz was awarded Young Planner of the Year at the PIA Victoria Awards for Planning Excellence, which cited her contribution to the industry and her balanced qualities in advocacy and adeptness at planning.
Outside of work, you can find Liz kicking around with her football (soccer) club, baking up sweet treats (ignoring her track record of kitchen disasters), or out for a walk with her dog Gravy.
